Elsewhere in this Outdoor News edition you will see detailed information about the US Fish and Wildlife Service pilot program, which will pay hunters, who decide not to utilize lead ammunition on seven national nature shelters.
Last month, the USFWS confirmed that it was implementing the program this fall “in order to test voluntary, motivation -based efforts to increase the consumption of ammunition without lead by hunters in the USFWS area.” The plan does not include any shelters in Minnesota, but it has real estate close to my heart on the other side of the Mississippi River.
