Green Bay Packers employs the former assistant of the New England Patriots coach, Jamael Lett as a defensive quality control coach in Matt Lafleur staff, According to Matt Zenitz from CBS Sports.
Lett, who played collegiately as a defender in Samford in 2006–2010, spent last year as a defense assistant/quality control at Jeroda Mayo in New England, which means that he cooperated with the former coordinator of Patriots defense and trainer Packers Demarcus Covington.
The connection probably led to employment. Lett and Covington played football together in Samford and trained together in Ut-Martin for a year.
Here’s what Covington said about Lett in 2020, through the acron: “Jamael is an extremely hard -working employee. He loves playing football, he is a good teacher and a game student. His passion for the game, Jesus Christ and making children to better men are second to none. “
Packers had an opening of quality control after losing Anthony Perkins from Jacksonville Jaguars. Perkins has gone from quality control at Green Bay led by Jeff Haffa to the defensive trainer in Jacksonville for Anthony Campanile’s up-to-date staff.
Lettta’s earlier coaching experience includes being a special analytical in North Carolina (2023), special team coordinator and defensive assistant at South Alabama (2021-22), medium coach in Akron (2020), medium coach in Samford (2017-19), Assistant Assistant Coach in Ohio (2016) and assistant to the defensive trainer in Ut-Martin (2015).
While the player, Lett produced 110 equipment, four intervals, 16 decays and two forced foume. In 2011, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in the field of sports medicine in Samford and a master’s degree in Tennessee Tech in 2012.
