Bondauel started the season with a series of winning 20 matches before she suffered her first defeat with Roncalli.
“This loss, it was in a sense that in a sense and we just never wanted to feel it again,” said the second Quinn Wesenberg. “So every day in practice, trying to be better, be more aggressive in defense, play harder, be smarter and just always take the level of every game.”
The Bears have won seven in a row from this loss and go to the Wiaa State Tournament for the first time in the history of the program.
“It is really complex to wrap yourself in the head,” said COPP. “I mean, because we’ve all worked on it for so long.
Players agree that winning the title of the section was nice, but there are more hungry.
“It would mean for me,” said Avelink. “Creating history here, not once, but twice.”
“Since I was really young, I always thought about creating a state and it would be amazing to do it with all my friends and teammates,” said Wesenberg.
