Jersey Natisha Hiedman retired at Green Bay Southwest

Green Bay – nowadays Natisha Hiedeman on the floor of the target center in Minneapolis, where he plays Minnesota Lynx. This upcoming season will be its sixth in WNBA.

“I just knew that basketball is always my main and the fact that it would take me places in my life that I have never been,” said Hiedeman. “I just put a lot of time in it and around my younger or older year I knew that I had a university basketball potential. Of course I had a great career in Marquette and it was so fun to be there and I could stay close to home.”

But before she was the WNBA star, she was a multiplayer athlete for Green Bay Southwest High School, winning a lot of distinctions. A graduate of 2015, Hiedeman was appointed the first ALL-STATE team, FRCC Player of the Year and a defensive player of the year. She was also an athletic star in which she won the state title in Triple Jump in 2014, and even reached tennis.

“Whenever you have such a rare athlete from your school, it is better to admit it,” said Chris Williams, sports director of Green Bay Southwest.

Despite everything she achieved thanks to the Trojans, the school retired during the ceremony on Thursday. This is the first T -shirt that was retired in the history of the school and will be displayed in the Southwest Gym rafters.

“This is just a huge achievement for me, my family and friends, this school and community,” said Hiedeman. “It means to me. I poured a lot of blood, sweat and tears to this school, so I just be able to achieve it, means a lot.”

There were coaches, and even a neighbor talked during the ceremony and everyone talked about how unique to watch it was, how Hiedeman played basketball from his youth until now, but they said what makes her even more amazing, how great he is the leader.

As for what he is most proud of the times with the Trojans:

“The friendships and relationships that I created here through basketball and of course I still have contact with all my trainers,” said Hiedeman.
