The nine-day opening day of Wisconsin’s gun deer season is different from other DNR game warden days, including diminutive game hunting, May fishing and waterfowl seasons.
DNR field wardens are assigned a constant station covering a county or part of a county or counties. Some rangers are assigned to the Great Lakes. Even this division of responsibilities varies greatly among Wisconsin’s 72 counties, state parks and gigantic waters.
