Gone are the days when savings started on Black Friday – holiday sales for holiday shoppers are already underway. Regardless of whether they are shopping for themselves or for a loved one, consumers can take advantage of deals offered throughout November and December. Keep these tips in mind for shopping wisely this holiday season:
- Please do your research before shopping online or going to a store as sales and prices may vary.
- If an item is out of stock, holiday shoppers should ask to see if it is rainy so they can purchase it later at the current sale price.
- Sellers must honor the lowest advertised price for an item, whether in advertising or on the shelf. Double check that product prices are correct and politely ask the cashier or customer service representative to correct any errors.
- Read the fine print! Some sales only apply in restricted circumstances. Ask yourself: Are there restricted days/hours?
- Does the sale only apply to selected models or colors?
- Do you have to buy a certain quantity to get the promotional price?
- Are there limits on how much I can buy at the sale price?
- Can you return an item you sell? Will you receive a full refund?
- Please review the seller’s return and exchange policy.
- Are certain products, such as electronics or sale items, subject to different rules?
- Can defective products be returned or just exchanged?
- Whether the return/exchange period starts at the time of purchase or at the time of delivery
product? Who pays return shipping fees?
- Whether shopping online or in store, please make sure your cart contains what you want to purchase before paying. This will facilitate you avoid unnecessary returns/exchanges.
- Please keep all receipts and keep the original packaging and barcodes intact in case you need to return your purchase.
