The Wisconsin DNR has no idea where the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service might land with its decision to place lake sturgeon on the federal Endangered Species List (ESL).
That, in a nutshell, was the message from DNR fish biologist Tom Meronek of Wautoma during the Waupaca County Spring Fish and Wildlife hearing on April 8 at Waupaca High School.
The Wisconsin DNR is working with the USFWS on lake sturgeon, but there are no updates yet on a possible ESL listing
