Breakdown: Wisconsin Basketball adds versatile three-star in-state center

The Wisconsin basketball team took on a huge challenge today in the form of an in-state center who was on the Badgers’ radar.

Will Garlock, a three-star center from Middleton, Wisconsin, announced his commitment to the Badgers after many visits and much consideration. Garlock is a long-winded, two-faced center who looks for the lane to block shots or ends games for other guards. The center also received offers from Iowa, Marquette and Virginia Tech, but ultimately stuck with his hometown Wisconsin basketball program.

The Wisconsin basketball staff has finally achieved one of its top goals for the class of 2025. The Badgers have signed Middleton center Will Garlock after nearly two years of constantly recruiting a player. Garlock is a huge addition to Wisconsin’s 2025 class as they currently only have one commitment at guard De Pete Zach Kinziger.

Both Kinziger and Garlock represent a 2025 Wisconsin basketball recruiting class that could develop in the future. Kai Rogers AND Davion Hannahboth state stars, are the next two targets on the Wisconsin basketball recruiting list, which the Badgers intend to recruit tough.

Will Garlock could find his way onto the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team in no time

In Garlock’s case, playing time could become something the recruit earns quite quickly considering his size and skill set. The Badgers and head coach Greg Gard are known for giving playing time to players who earn it through tough and effective training. Garlock, who is a forceful motor and stands almost 7 feet towering, loves filling the lanes and finishing scoops for his team.

If there was one thing the Badgers lacked at the center position over the past few seasons, it was physicality and athleticism. The center position has changed over the past few years, but the Badgers have struggled to keep up so far. Will Garlock comes in and the Wisconsin basketball team could find a potential solution down the road.

Garlock still needs time to bulk up for college, as he currently weighs 215 pounds, but with more weight on his body, the center could be a monster down low.

So far, the trend for Wisconsin basketball in the 2025 recruiting class has been recruiting from Wisconsin and Indiana. There’s no doubt that every state has produced great players, but the 2025 class in particular seems to be brimming with a ton of talent.

Wisconsin currently has two recruits ranked among the nation’s top 100, while Indiana has six, including a combo guard and a five-star recruit Jalen Haralson. The Wisconsin basketball staff is keeping a close eye on Haralson, but is also very interested in the Indiana native and four-star forward Trent Sisley. Sisley receives a lot of attention from the Big Ten, but remains in close contact with it Louisville basketball Lately.
