The Milwaukee Bucks have been criticized over the past few weeks for letting veteran Jrue Holiday leave in favor of All-Star Damian Lillard. NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins reminded the franchise of his decision as the current Boston Celtics starter performs well in the Finals.
Holiday entered the NBA as the 17th overall pick of the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2009 draft. Over the course of 11 years, he established himself as one of the league’s best two-way players, representing the Sixers and New Orleans Pelicans. Throughout this period, the experienced defender averaged 15.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
After failing to build a championship-contending team in New Orleans with Anthony Davis, the Bucks acquired the versatile defenseman in 2020 to add to their backcourt rotation. Thanks to Holiday organizing the attack, Milwaukee dominated the regular season with, among others, Record 46-26 and clinched the 2021 NBA Finals championship, ending a 50-year franchise title drought.
However, this offseason, the Bucks front office took a different direction and traded Holiday for Lillard. This move was intended to give the Greek Freak an elite shot creator instead of a defensive defender. As a result, the former NBA champion wore a Boston Celtics jersey this season, and the team advanced to the finals after defeating the Indiana Pacers.
The Milwaukee Bucks face a harsh holiday reality from Kendrick Perkins during the NBA Finals
Before the NBA Finals, Kyrie Irving managed to change the narrative of his career by helping Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks go far in the playoffs. However, according to NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins, the video posted by Holiday shows that he is the better player ESPN “Get up on X.”.

So far, Holiday is averaging 13.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.3 steals per contest during this year’s playoffs. He also made several key plays that helped Boston defeat opponents such as the Mavs, Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat.
Without a doubt, Holiday is proving his worth on a series that is leaning toward Boston. The coming days will show whether the experienced guard can handle Doncic and company.
