According to them, the Green Bay Packers are one of several teams interested in hosting UFL kicker Jake Bates Aaron Wilson.
Bates, who spent time with the Houston Texans in the 2023 offseason, made 17 of 22 field goals in the regular season for the Michigan Panthers. He completed 11 of 12 kicks from 20 to 49 yards and had 6 of 10 kicks of at least 50 yards, including a long of 64 yards. 64-yard scorer – game winner against St. Louis – Was the longest field goal scored in the UFL. Overall, Bates completed three kicks for 60 yards.
In the postseason, Bates completed 4 of 6 kicks for a total of 21 of 28. His postseason catches included a 53-yarder.
Bates was named an All-UFL kicker for 2024.
The Packers currently have a three-way rivalry between 2023 draft pick Anders Carlson, veteran Greg Joseph and rookie Jacek Podlesny. If such a visit takes place, it is possible that the Packers will release one of their three kickers and add Bates to the lineup before training camp.
The Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders and Baltimore Ravens also asked Bates to visit.
During his college career at Texas State and Arkansas, Bates was simply a first-down specialist. He has a football background.
