QWERTYFEST MKE

The goal of QWERTYFEST MKE is to celebrate Milwaukee’s innovations and have fun doing it. The star of the show is the typewriter, which was invented right here in Milwaukee by Christopher Latham Sholes 151 years ago. The same keyboard, known as the “QWERTY” keyboard, is still used on our phones and computers.

This event is for anyone who wants to get involved in some weird, nerdy fun while learning about a piece of Milwaukee history that is enjoyed by billions of people around the world today. The weekend program is full of events, live music, workshops, cemetery tours, a market, presentations, brunch and other events taking place throughout the city.

You can attend as many events as you want – some are free, others require tickets.
