This Milwaukee Breweries and Texas Ranger played a wild game Wednesday afternoon that ended with the Brew Crew winning in extra innings to edge out the reigning World Series champions, marking just the third time in Brewers franchise history that infrequent feat has been accomplished.

In the third inning, Jake Bauers hit a powerful 444-foot grand slam to center field to give Milwaukee a 4-1 lead. Bauers attacked the first pitch he saw and knocked it off the scoreboard. It was also the second grand slam in the series, as Rhys Hoskins had it on Monday night.

Jackson Chourio hit an inside-the-park home run (watch).
In the next inning, Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio hit an inside-the-park home run. The baseball sailed past the diving Rangers outfielder, and Chourio was able to round the bases and easily score.

A grand slam and an infield home run have only happened twice in Milwaukee Brewers history.
According to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Jake Bauer’s grand slam and Jackson Chourio’s inside the park home run marked just the third time in franchise history that both occurred in the same game. The remaining two cases occurred in one action. Roberto Pena in 1970 and Ben Oglivie in 1980 both had grand slam inside the park.
Today marked just the third time in franchise history that the Brewers have hit a grand slam and a home run in the same game.
On both previous occasions they played in the same game (Roberto Pena on May 30, 1970 against Detroit and Ben Oglivie on September 26, 1980 in Oakland).
