Chuck Dreher of West Bend, Wisconsin, found something of a needle in a haystack on Jan. 25 when he found a white, car-killed doe in a snowbank along U.S. Highway 28 near the village of St. Michaels in Washington County.
A friend passed on to Dreher a rumor about a white deer that had been hit by a car and the approximate location where the deer had been hit. Around lunchtime, Dreher drove past the area.
