Wisconsin Football Staff Targets NY 2026 Top Recruit Messiah Hampton
With the 2026 recruiting underway, the Wisconsin football staff has begun to get sedate about selecting a specific receiver. Three-star wide receiver Messiah HamptonNew York’s top-rated recruit has been a balmy recruiting commodity over the past few weeks. Hampton is a quick, explosive receiver who can still get in the air and make needed plays.
While it’s still early in the process, Hampton currently has twelve scholarship offers, including one from the Wisconsin football staff. Both Penn State AND Syracuse They heavily recruited Hampton and began recruiting him last season through their coach.
Messiah Hampton: ‘I think very highly of Wisconsin’
For Hampton, finding a program that combines athletics, academics and football development was key to his recruitment. Hampton wants to become the best player he can be on the field while also getting an education that really means something.
When asked what he was looking for in a program, Hampton stated, “I’m looking for a school that will develop me so that I can become the best football player I can be.” Hampton also added that experience and talented staff are what he is looking for at the next level.
As for Wisconsin football, Hampton revealed that he indeed has early interest in the program. Hampton stated, “I have very high regard for Wisconsin with their great athletic and academic achievements.”
Could the Wisconsin Badgers football staff end up in Hampton in the future?
For the Wisconsin football staff, the key to potentially signing Hampton in the future is giving the recruit a path to the field. The Badgers already have plenty of wide receivers, but none have the speedy talents of Hampton. Wisconsin could move Hampton to the slot position and place taller receivers on the outside, which would be the easiest way to get Hampton on the field quickly.
Regardless of where he would play, there is still plenty of time left to recruit and work with Hampton before his final commitment.
