The Wisconsin side of the St. Croix River will see changes to fishing regulations, but Minnesota will see no changes this year. Both states have been working to change some of the regulations regarding daily catch limits and fish shelters. Wisconsin was able to complete the process before the upcoming year, while Minnesota could not do so in time.
Shannon Fisher, manager of fish population monitoring and regulations for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, said there will be some differences in 2024, but he predicts states will have similar regulations by 2025.
