The fact that I caught my first mink at the age of 12, using a specially prepared mink fishing kit, fills me with great pride.
It still is, because it takes a lot of work and strategy from a kid to get there. A little bit of scouting (sometimes a lot of scouting), recognition of mink sign, selection of the right trap, and above all the boundless enthusiasm of a novice trapper all came together to catch what was then – and for the most part still is – my ultimate prize.
