The Wisconsin football staff continues to scout and recruit for the 2026 class and recently made contact with a three-star athlete.
Mykul CampbellThe 2026 three-star athlete from Indiana recently became a recruiting target for the Wisconsin football staff. Campbell is a versatile defensive back and was considered an athlete for his ability to play multiple defensive positions. During a recent interview with Sports Heroics in WisconsinCampbell discussed what he thinks sets him apart on the football field.
Wisconsin Football is keeping a close eye on talented three-star athlete Mykul Campbell
Coming off a great season, the Wisconsin football staff has set their sights on a three-star Indiana native with incredible versatility. The player Mykul Campbell finished last season with 77 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, four blocked punts and one interception.
After dominating the field, Campbell attracted the attention of several major programs such as Wisconsin, Missouri, CincinnatiAND LouisvilleCampbell also drew attention from smaller programs such as Akron, Ball condition, Miami, OhioAND Central Michigan.
Mykul Campbell: “My style of play is fast and physical, I can play from sideline to sideline”
On the field, Campbell transforms from a serene, nippy individual into a strike-seeking projectile who can cover every inch of the field. At 6-foot-2 and weighing nearly 200 pounds, Campbell has the build of a college safety. However, Campbell is not your average safety, as last season he really tested the limits of what an individual player can do.
Last season Campbell has a movie playing quarterback, safety, outside linebacker, and even wide receiver for his team. The player has scored touchdowns on offense, had interceptions on defense, and managed to block multiple punts on special teams. Campbell is definitely one of the most versatile athletes in the 2026 class, not only because of his range of positions, but also because he excels at every position he is placed in.
When asked what he thinks sets him apart as an athlete, Campbell replied, “My ability to play every position on defense and my high IQ in the game.”
What the Wisconsin Badgers football staff and other programs need to acquire Campbell
When it comes to Wisconsin football staff and other programs, Campbell is pretty specific about what he and his family expect from their future college home. Campbell noted that his family is involved in the decision-making process, but said he looks to them for “…guidance throughout the process.”
When asked what he looks for in a program, the athlete stated, “My family and I look for the coaching staff, the defense, and the education at the school.” Campbell not only wants to become the best version of himself on the court, but he also wants to improve in the classroom at a competitive school.
Campbell hasn’t said what he’d like to major in after college, but regardless, Wisconsin currently offers the best programs among the schools he’s interested in.
