Packers return 3 players from PUP list for Friday’s training camp practice

The Green Bay Packers are slowly getting back on track as training camp begins. After an off day on Thursday, the Packers brought offensive quarterback Caleb Jones, offensive lineman Donovan Jennings and cornerback Corey Ballentine back off the physically unable to play (PUP) list on Friday. All three are on the practice field and participating in their fourth practice of training camp.

Jones and Ballentine are both returning from hamstring injuries, while Jennings is getting his first practice of training camp after dealing with a knee injury for the first three practices.

Jones, now in his third year, could be in the running for reps while Zach Tom (pec) is sidelined for 11-on-11 play. He also plays at left quarterback.

Ballentine started at cornerback for the Packers last season and will likely compete for center field and special teams duties in 2024.

Jennings, an undrafted free agent out of USF, landed jobs at guard and tackle. He’ll compete for a spot as a backup on the 53-man roster or on the practice squad as a rookie.

Player Jayden Reed returned to health on Wednesday from a non-football-related injury that left him with a minor toe sprain.

The only Packers players still out are tight end Tucker Kraft (PUP, pec), running back MarShawn Lloyd (hip) and safety Kitan Oladapo (NFI, toe). Quarterback Jordan Love is out while negotiating a up-to-date contract.
