Milwaukee Bucks veteran linked to Philadelphia 76ers

Milwaukee Bucks news: The Philadelphia 76ers could be one of the teams to beat in the East now that they’ve landed nine-time All-Star Paul George in free agency. In addition to Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers now have a legitimate Big Three — one that will likely terrorize the Eastern Conference this upcoming season.

Philly may not be done yet, though. With one roster spot remaining for the 2024-25 season, the Sixers could turn their attention to Bucks veteran Jae Crowder.

According to Kylan Watson of Last Word on Sports, the Sixers could do a lot worse than Crowder when it comes to filling the final available roster spot.

“If the Sixers decide they want a player who can provide toughness and veteran presence. Signing Jae Crowder could be a great option for them, too. Crowder brings a dog mentality and a willingness to do the little things that contribute to winning. Having a player like that on the roster would bolster the Sixers’ mental toughness. Interestingly, that’s been a weakness of previous teams Philly has put together,” Watson wrote.

Crowder is no star, but he may have exactly what the Sixers are looking for.

The 34-year-old has shot 37.1 percent from deep in two seasons in Milwaukee, a level of long-range efficiency that could benefit Philadelphia, given that Embiid, Maxey and George have significant ball control and opposing defenses lean toward them.

As for the Bucks, it doesn’t seem like they’re interested in offering Crowder a fresh deal. Otherwise, they probably would have signed him already.

He could also join the Philadelphia club for little money, and Crowder would most likely agree to the lowest rate for the veteran.
