So what can we expect on day six at Ray Nitschke Field?

Here’s everything you need to know about Sunday, July 28, the sixth practice of the 2024 training camp:

Matt LaFleur at the pre-practice press conference

LaFleur admitted that Love was struggling with some “rust” early in Saturday’s practice but “finished strong.”

On Sunday, the Packers will do a miniature version of the 1-on-1. They’ll do it again next Wednesday with more volume. On Sunday, the Packers will also do a “two-minute workload at the end of the game.”

Packers still working on fresh kickoff rules. Having officials at practice helps. Joint practices and preseason games will provide more clarity.

LaFleur confirmed the entire team will be staying at a hotel during camp. The same setup as last year. “Going through something bad together brings you closer together.”

“I’m really excited about both of those guys,” LaFleur said of rookie safeties Javon Bullard and Evan Williams. Excited about the retention. Highlighted the versatility of both of them. Really competitive position.

LaFleur said Jordan Morgan has played mostly as a linebacker during training camp. “He’s starting to get more comfortable in the middle, but he’s talented enough — if we need to — if we need to throw him outside, he can do that.”

Injury Updates

Josh Myers returns to training, by Andy Herman. Myers has missed the last two practices due to personal issues.

Elgton Jenkins has another day of rest for the veterans. Zayne Anderson (knee), Deslin Alexandre (leg contusion) and Keshawn Banks (groin) will not practice on Sunday, by Rob Demovsky.

Live news and practice news

Packers have NFL referees at practice, fresh emphasis on rules for 2024 to be unveiled

Jordan Morgan had a sturdy start in the 1-on-1 action. He faced Devonte Wyatt and won two reps, according to Ryan Wood.

Love scores a goal in a solo quarterback effort. I’m reminded of a video that made the rounds during Love’s rookie season, when he missed a goal by a wide margin during an indoor workout. Look how far he’s come. Makes you wonder… how many quarterbacks have been irreversibly damaged in the NFL?

Could seventh-round pick Kalen King make some noise in training camp? He had a pick-six on Sunday against Jordan Love, by Andy Herman.

Another interception by Sean Clifford, but another interception by rookie Evan Williams, according to Wednesday Hodkiewicz. That ended a two-minute offensive sequence for the second team. Williams has made a number of flashy plays in six practices.

Another good day for the veteran kickers. Anders Carlson and Greg Joseph were both 5-of-6, including a 55-yard catch to end practice. Carlson had 51 for a miss, Joseph 53 for a miss. Both kickers are 16-of-18 through six practices and three days of kicking.

The workout ends after about two hours. As the “loser” of the day, the attack returned to doing push-ups.

The Packers will have Monday off but will return to practice on Tuesday.
