He can’t do it alone. That’s the unified message from Milwaukee Bucks fans after watching Giannis Antetokounmpo score 34 points on 11-of-17 shooting Sunday in a disappointing 86-79 loss to Canada.
Antetokounmpo did everything in his power to lead his team to victory, but unfortunately, it was the lack of support that ultimately led to Greece’s defeat in its Olympic debut in Paris.
Milwaukee Bucks fans feel sorry for Giannis Antetokounmpo
Canada had virtually no answer for Antetokounmpo, who scored at will in Sunday’s prestigious contest, which resulted in a team-high 34 points for the Bucks’ talisman, who ultimately simply didn’t have enough gas left in the tank to lead his team to victory over Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and company.
The fans, for their part, could not assist but feel sorry for Giannis, seeing him fail despite his tremendous effort.

Giannis will do his thing and continue to be a dominant force despite all efforts by opponents to ponderous him down. However, without the necessary support from his team, I simply do not see the Greeks advancing to the knockout stages of the competition.
Unless the situation in Greece changes significantly, Antetokounmpo’s appearance at the 2024 Olympics may prove to be short-lived.
