It’s no secret that All-Star forward Khris Middleton has missed some time due to injury. If that happens again this upcoming season, the Milwaukee Bucks may have to bring in someone else to keep the team afloat and competitive.
Middleton struggled with complex health issues last season, ending with two ankle surgeries in the off-season. The procedures were deemed necessary after he suffered an ankle injury a few months ago that significantly impacted his performance.
Following surgeries that included arthroscopic debridement of both ankles, Middleton has begun lithe on-court activities in preparation for the upcoming 2024-2025 NBA season. His recovery has been progressing well, and expectations are high for him to be fully recovered by the start of the season.
Despite injury setbacks, the Bucks star showed resilience and determination last season, showcasing his skill and leadership on the court. His key role in the team’s performances, especially in the playoffs, underscored his importance to the Bucks.
Middleton’s ability to overcome physical challenges and achieve outstanding results underscores his commitment to the sport and his team. As he prepares for the up-to-date season, fans eagerly await his return to the pitch, ready to witness his continued impact on the game.
Milwaukee Bucks miniature forward Khris Middleton’s backup plan revealed
While Middleton could potentially miss time due to the stringent and demanding NBA season schedule and related injuries, Milwaukee is expected to have a plan in place. According to a report by Brian Sampson for Forbes, former Los Angeles Lakers forward Taurean Prince is expected to be given the miniature forward job if Middleton remains unavailable.
“Depending on his availability after double ankle surgery offseason, that’s Middleton’s job. He was great in the postseason and still has enough strength to make it work. He’s also unselfish, willing to make room for Antetokounmpo and Lillard. Let’s assume he’s sidelined at the start of the regular season (or leaves at any point during the season), in which case Prince would be a natural fit in that starting spot.” Sampson wrote.
Within his eight-season NBA careerPrince averaged 10.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists. He also shot 42 percent from the field, 37 percent from 3-point range and 81 percent from the free throw line. Prince is set to play his first season for coach Doc Rivers and the Bucks after being signed as a free agent in the offseason.
While Middleton is still the best man for the job, Bucks fans can rest assured knowing that a veteran like Prince is around to start alongside Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo. With him in the starting lineup, Milwaukee could maintain some consistency, especially at the miniature forward position.
