Among the players scouted by the Wisconsin basketball team are players from the state Iola-Scandinavia forward Alex Robbins. Robbins impressed last season and made quite an impression on college coaches in his first year of high school play. During a recent interview with Sports Heroics in WisconsinRobbins spoke in detail about the recruiting process and what he believes led to it.

The Wisconsin basketball staff has begun working on the 2027 recruiting class after recently extending scholarship offers and attending various games. One such player that the Wisconsin staff has been watching games and has begun scouting is Iola-Scandinavia little striker Alex Robbins.

Robbins is a prolific forward who averaged double figures this season in his freshman year of high school. The forward has already begun to draw interest from a number of college programs after a dazzling season last year, but has yet to receive an offer.

When asked about the recruitment process, Robbins stated that UNI, State of IndianaWisconsin, Our Lady, Saint LouisAND Youngstown State everyone watched his film. Robbins believes his potential on the court has led to the interest he is starting to garner.

The forward is a vocal leader who can score at any level, with Robbins stating, “My ability to score sets up my teammates and allows them to make plays.” On the defensive side of the ball, Robbins works just as difficult and constantly communicates with his teammates when he’s on defense.

Alex Robbins: “I want it to be a brotherhood where everyone trusts” “We have fun together and with each other.”

While it may still be early days for his college recruiting, Robbins already has a good idea of what he’s looking for in his future home. When asked about possible recruiting factors he was considering, Robbins stated, “I have a few different things I’m looking for when it comes to colleges. I want it to be a brotherhood where everyone trusts each other and plays together.”

The recruit also added: “Also winning because it shows how well they can play as a team.” The forward believes that a consistent, winning culture is something he needs at the university level to fully develop himself and his game.

The striker was also critical of the coach he will be playing under, believing he needs someone who can bring out the best in him while also being able to joke around.

Will the Wisconsin Badgers basketball staff be able to acquire Robbins in the future?

Ultimately, Robbins’ commitment to stay in-state and play for the Wisconsin basketball program is not out of the question. When asked what Robbins is looking for when choosing a college, the forward said that both brotherhood and a winning culture are crucial to him. In addition to those two factors, Robbins also said, “The last factor is just coaches that I can bond with.”

Robbins wants to be challenged and pushed out of his comfort zone, while also being able to relax and have a laugh with his coaches when needed. Every athlete loves to get better, but many of them also understand that there needs to be time to let loose.

The Wisconsin basketball program certainly has what Robbins is looking for, but the process is still fairly novel for the forward. Many programs, including Wisconsin, are still in the early stages of recruiting the forward, so it will be some time before he makes a final commitment.
