On the afternoon of November 7, I went on a miniature out-of-state bow hunt in South Dakota and drove around a miniature property for which I had obtained a permit.
Most of my plans for this trip centered on the grassland. The low terrain here provided a good mix of habitat—a mix of timber, cattail, willow, and grasses adjacent to a miniature stream that bordered the cropland. This trip on November 7th quickly revealed a gut punch. The grass had been cut, leaving only ankle-deep cover around a miniature marsh.
