Milwaukee Bucks News: Giannis Antetokounmpo wasn’t the only one who went through real pain after Greece lost its second straight game at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday. His brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, was on the court, as expected, passionately cheering on the national team during the hard-fought game.
Ultimately, however, Giannis and company lacked courage and lost to Spain 84-77.
Milwaukee Bucks News: Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s Powerful Message
Shortly after the defeat, Thanasis reached out to Twitter user X with an inspiring quote — a quote Greece can employ ahead of their final group stage match on Friday.
“‘Don’t look at the clock; do what it does. Keep going.’ #Greece“he wrote on Twitter.

In his tweet, Thanasis used a photo of himself from Tuesday’s game, his trademark intensity on full display as he did his best to cheer on his Greek teammates.
All of this must have been a lot harder for the Bucks forward, considering he wasn’t able to get on the court with his countrymen. Thanasis was originally part of the squad that was supposed to represent Greece at the Paris Games, but the 32-year-old suffered a torn Achilles tendon in the offseason, forcing him to miss the Olympics.
Greece have one final group stage match ahead of them, a life-or-death battle against Australia on Friday. You can be sure Thanasis will be there again, watching from the sidelines.
