Iola-Scandinavia quarterback Jensen’s Rice booked an appointment in Wisconsin their game September 7th against South Dakota. The athlete established himself as a standout player on the football field last season, playing both as a linebacker and quarterback.

The Wisconsin football staff has extended invitations to a number of recruits to attend some of this season’s upcoming home games. Among the players who received invitations is an athlete from the state Jensen’s Ricemember of the Iola-Scandinavia football team. The recruit will be present at the September 7 match against South Dakota as a candidate, which allows him to get a closer look at match day.
Rice is a talented runner and football player, known for his speed and maneuverability. The athlete was in contact with North Dakota State University AND South Dakota State University with the Wisconsin football program. Born in Wisconsin, he grew up Florida State Seminole fan and hopes to one day receive an offer from them, but is grateful for all the offers that come his way.
Jensen Rice: ‘I think my ability to stop and start really helps’
One thing that has really come naturally to Rice is his speed, as he is also a gifted runner. The athlete is able to cut and move at high speeds, making it hard for defenders to really see where Rice is going. Rice is also able to reach his top speed very quickly and outpace second-level defenders due to his quick start.
When asked about his play on the field and what he thinks sets him apart, Rice stated, “I think my ability to stop and go really helps.” The athlete also has an incredible level of versatility in his game, as he can play as a fullback, quarterback, wide receiver or return punts and kicks when needed.
Wisconsin Badgers football team looks to impress with versatile athlete
If there is one thing the Wisconsin football staff truly loves, it is a versatile player, whether he can play multiple positions or multiple styles of play. Rice has really established himself as the type of player with the potential to play multiple positions at the next level.
When asked what position he would play, Rice stated, “Either cornerback or I think I could play receiver or return man.” Many programs that have spoken to Rice have not provided details about his position and role on the team in the future. Instead, Rice is preparing to play any position that is needed to benefit the team.
Wisconsin loves versatility, and Rice exudes it both in the way he plays football and in his raw athletic ability. The athlete could become a Badger in the future, as he continues to fly under the radar of major programs.
