Packers sections will stream Family Night practices live on the team’s website

Not only will the Green Bay Packers broadcast the team’s Family Night practice on the Packers TV Network, but the team also plans to stream the event live — scheduled for 7 p.m. from Lambeau Field — on its website.

In years past, the Packers have made the event available only via television broadcast to a circumscribed area, largely out of fear of losing a competitive edge by broadcasting a full training camp practice. Now, fans across the country will have the opportunity to watch Family Night without having to find an alternative online stream. It’s possible the team now sees the folly of trying to limit the reach of a practice that was open to more than 80,000 fans in person and was already being broadcast locally.

From the Packers:

“For fans not attending the event, coverage throughout the state will be available on various local stations and Packers TV Network stations. The stations broadcasting the event are WACY-TV (channel 32) in Green Bay and WPXE-TV (channel 55) in Milwaukee, as well as WAOW-TV in Wausau, WKOW-TV in Madison, WXOW-TV in La Crosse, WQOW-TV in Eau Claire, KQDS-TV in Duluth-Superior and ELUC-TV in Escanaba-Marquette. The event will also be broadcast on KWWL-TV and WHBF-TV in Iowa; KATN-TV, KYUR-TV and KJUD-TV in Alaska; and KSFY-TV in Sioux Falls, SD. For fans outside of those areas who wish to follow the event, it will be streamed live on packers.com.”

All available tickets for Family Night have now been sold.

The Packers are planning a full practice Saturday night. It will be the team’s 10th training camp practice.

Practice is scheduled for 7:30 pm. On-field warmups will begin at 7:00 pm. After practice, the Packers will have a fireworks show at Lambeau Field.
