When the 2023 Wisconsin deer hunting season opens on Saturday, Nov. 18, Day family hunters will celebrate 54 years of whitetail hunting on the family farm in eastern Marathon (pronounced Mar-a-tin) County.
I don’t know if Ken Day of Wausau is the official family chronicler, but he contacted the office some time ago with a black-and-white photo from the 1970 deer season that sort of started Day’s hunting history.
