Milwaukee Breweries Rookie pitcher Tobias Myers was pulled from Sunday’s series finale against the Washington Nationals after throwing 64 balls and allowing just one earned run. The bullpen was immediately tagged with three earned runs, and the Brewers ultimately lost 4-3. Manager Pat Murphy explained after the game why he pulled Myers from the game.

Luis Garcia Jr.’s first-inning solo home run was the only run scored while Tobias Myers was the pitcher. He also pitched five innings, gave up four hits, walked one and struck out two. He finished the day with just 64 pitches, 41 of which were strikeouts.
Why did Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy remove Tobias Myers after 64 pitches?
After the game, Pat Murphy cited several factors for removing Myers from the game. One was the heat and humidity, the third was facing the team, and finally, he mentioned having a full bullpen with Devin Williams pitching. Williams’ last appearance was July 28, and the Brewers had a day off scheduled after Sunday’s game.

The key word here is “consensus.” Are we voting on these decisions now? “Let’s take a poll – should Tobias be on the field next round?” Make the decision as the team leader. This “consensus” crap is an excuse. Fact – the analysts told you to cut him.
