Wisconsin basketball currently has three recruiting classes committed to the 2025 recruiting class, and one of those commitments has boosted his grade.

Kinziger entered the summer as a three-star recruit after helping lead his high school team last season. After dominating the AAU circuit this summer, Kinziger has positioned himself as a potential fifth-star prospect this season.
De Pere Wisconsin Basketball Commitment Zach Kinziger Gets Fourth Star
Perhaps the most coveted in-state recruit the Wisconsin basketball team has landed is point guard Zach Kinziger. Kinziger, a De Pere native and basketball star, is currently ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 129 recruit in the country. When the Wisconsin basketball staff originally acquired Kinziger’s commitment almost a year ago, the recruit was a three-star and barely appeared in the national rankings.
Since then, Kinziger has accomplished a lot and currently holds a four-star ranking and the third overall spot in the state of Wisconsin.
What does Kinziger have to offer as a four-star combo guard recruit?

This last season for De Pere, Kinziger recorded 19.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game for his team. The guard shot 49.9 percent from the field and 42.5 percent from beyond the arc, which helped him showcase his incredibly precise shooting and shooting intelligence. Kinziger recorded a season-high 27 points and scored 557 points last season alone.
Two seasons ago, the conversation surrounding Kinziger was about how great of a scorer he was and his ability to rebound. But the question was about his playmaking and whether the defender would be able to create plays for his teammates. The defender was able to prove that last season, increasing his assists by 17 from the previous season in fewer games.
Kinziger also proved last season, and especially this summer, that he’s no slouch on the defensive end either. Last season, Kinziger averaged 1.2 interceptions per game and nearly one block per game. In three seasons, the guard has thrown 107 interceptions, with 46 of those interceptions coming in the same season.

After earning a fourth star with his exceptional play, Kinziger is now preparing to potentially earn a fifth star this upcoming season. Kinziger took a massive step forward last season, increasing his scoring by 4.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game this season in two fewer games. The guard certainly has the ability to make a similar leap, but the question is whether it will be enough for another star.
