A quick glance at the number of turkeys killed so far shows that as of May 7, hunters had recorded 32,417 birds. Topping the list were 9,111 birds recorded in zone 1, followed by hunters from zone 3 with 8,350.
Hunters registered 43,439 turkeys during the 2023 spring season, an augment of 9% over 2022 and 6% above the 10-year average. I hope to add to this total two Zone 1 tags for season four and one Zone 4 tag for season five.
