This Milwaukee Breweries selected several college players in the mid- to late-stage stages of the 2023 MLB Draft. A few of them include Tate Kuehner, Craig Yoho, Mark Manfredi and Brett Wichrowski. Of that group, one pitcher was recently promoted to Triple-A after striking out nearly half of the batters he faced this year.
Craig Yoho, 24, has been promoted to the Milwaukee Brewers Triple-A affiliate.
Craig Yoho has been dominant in Single-A and Double-A this season. The right-handed pitcher has thrown 43.1 innings, struck out 83, and has a 0.83 ERA. In Double-A, he has struck out 47 percent of the batters he has faced. He also has nine saves and three holds.
Craig Yoho was just named the Milwaukee Brewers Pitcher of the Month.
In July, Craig Yoho pitched 10 scoreless innings with the Biloxi Shuckers. He also struck out 19 batters and struck out 43 percent of the batters he faced, earning him the Brewers Player Development Team’s Pitcher of the Month honors.
Will Craig Yoho have an impact on the Milwaukee Brewers’ 2024 plans?
Considering everything Crag Yoho has accomplished this season and his age (24), the stars could be aligning for him to be in the Brewers’ plans for the 2024 season. However, it could take an injury or two this year for that to happen, as Milwaukee will soon be facing a roster spot issue with regard to its pitching staff. DL Hall and Bryan Hudson are expected to return soon, JB Bukauskas is recovering, and Jacob Misiorowski is currently being monitored for his innings in preparation for a possible call-up at the end of the season.
It seems unlikely that Craig Yoho will make the jump from Single-A to the huge leagues in a single season, but he’ll be a pitcher to watch in the future. It’s more likely that he’ll earn an invitation to huge league camp next spring training.
