Conservation collaboration aims to better understand the decline of northern rosebushes

In the tranquil wetlands and immense grasslands of North Dakota, an iconic waterfowl species takes to the skies—the Northern Pintail. These charming, swimming ducks were once one of the most profuse duck species in North America.
While waterfowl populations as a group have indeed increased, several species, including the pintail, have seen their populations decline since the 1950s. So, to address the “management problem,” the Central Flyway collaboration has been established to unravel the mysteries of their migration, breeding and wintering sites, to lend a hand not only provide basic knowledge about the pintail, but also to inform management actions for both conservation and harvest management.
