The Milwaukee Brewers outfielder is coming off an impressive season in his first year in the massive leagues. The 20-year-old Venezuelan shined again on Thursday, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs in a 6-4 home win in the series finale against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Chourio made waves early on when he blasted a two-run home run 421 feet into the outfield in the first inning to give the Brewers an early 2-0 lead. Milwaukee’s victory over the World Series contender Dodgers — the favorite to win it all this year — gave Chourio even more confidence in his team.

“We know we have a really good team here and we know we can compete with anyone,” Chourio said through an interpreter. “Our job is to go out there and show it on the pitch.”
The Brewers are on the rise again. They lost the first two games of the Dodgers series but showed resilience, reeling off two thrilling wins in a row to get back on track. Milwaukee has won seven of its last 10 games and has momentum heading into another home series against the Cleveland Guardians, which is set to begin next Friday.
During Milwaukee’s win over the Dodgers on Thursday, Chourio also became just the sixth player age 20 or younger in major league history to have at least 15 home runs and 15 stolen bases in a season. So far in the 2024 MLB campaign, Chourio is slashing .274/.320/.441 with 15 home runs and 16 stolen bases. The future is dazzling for Chourio, whose eight-year, $82 million contract extension with the Brewers in 2023 may be starting to look like a bargain.
