When will the Milwaukee Bucks play the Miami Heat in the NBA Cup?

Last season, LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers rose to the occasion by winning their first-ever NBA Cup. In a few months, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks will attempt to do the same. The thing is, they first have to beat the Miami Heat.

NBA Emirates Cup, NBA second annual in-season competitionwill take place from November 12 to December 17, 2024. The tournament will consist of two stages: the group stage and the knockout stage.

In the Group Play phase, all 30 NBA teams were randomly assigned to six groups of five teams within their conferences based on the results of the 2023-24 regular season. From November 12 to December 3, each team will play four Group Play games, once against each opponent in its group, with two home and two away games.

The knockout rounds will feature eight teams: the team with the best Group Play record from each of the six groups, plus two “wild card” teams from each conference with the second-best Group Play record. The knockout rounds will consist of single-elimination games, with the quarterfinals played in NBA team markets and the semifinals and championship held in Las Vegas.

All 67 games in both stages will count toward the regular season standings, with the exception of the Championship game. The full schedule and broadcast details will be announced in August 2024.

In addition to Tyrese Haliburton’s Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee will face the Heat in the East Group B. In an article written by Dalton Sell for the Behind the Buck PassThe Bucks will try to beat a team that has won consistently over the past few years.

“Besides Lillard, the Bucks and Heat have had plenty of on-court clashes, especially in the NBA playoffs. Miami won in 2020 and Milwaukee won in 2021, followed by the Heat’s first-round upset of the No. 1 seeded Bucks in 2023. Whether it ends in pain or glory, matches between these two teams are always objectively must-sees.

Lillard’s presence in Milwaukee will add some intensity to this matchup, and the media will certainly be emphasizing that aspect. It won’t be a playoff game, but this NBA Cup game will certainly have a playoff feel. Perhaps this matchup could be a preview if the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat meet in another playoff series.

“Buy popcorn on November 26,” Sell wrote.

The Bucks were placed in East Group B for the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup, where they will face the Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons. Before they face Jimmy Butler’s team, Milwaukee will face Indiana in a match that fans of both teams are eagerly awaiting.

While this matchup is more hyped, it should not be forgotten that there are still some hidden storylines between Miami and Milwaukee. Their upcoming NBA Cup matchup could see tensions rise between the two teams, making it more thrilling for everyone.
