  • Kaukauna’s streak is the longest in Wisconsin history, a record set by the Ghosts last season and the longest dynamic streak for a player in the country.
  • Their current streak is the fourth-longest in high school softball history nationwide; they are now only the fourth team to reach 100 consecutive wins.
  • The national record is 112 consecutive wins, set by Vandebilt Catholic (Louisiana) from 1980-83.
  • Kaukauna has three games left in the regular season, followed by six potential playoff games. If the Ghosts keep winning, they could break the record early next season.
  • The streak dates back to May 20, 2021, when they defeated Fond du Lac 5-0.

Galloping Ghosts won by 10 runs and crossed the 100-point mark; drama ensued on Thursday when they defeated Neenah 1-0 in 10 innings, giving them victory No. 99 in a row. It was Kaukauna’s fourth win by two runs or less this season.
“Their mentality is just different,” longtime coach Tim Roehrig said of the team’s success in close games. “They won’t want to lose. They attack people in a completely different way.”

“When they were little, we knew we had something special,” Roehrig added. “I don’t know if it was 100 wins in a row, but we knew they had something special when they were six, seven, eight, nine, ten years old.”
