Milwaukee Brewers: William Contreras drops Savage Reminder after series against Los Angeles Dodgers

After losing the first two games of the series to the Los Angeles Dodgers, William Contreras and the Milwaukee Brewers came back and won the last two games, including Thursday’s 6-4 victory over the National League West division powerhouse.

Contreras had a great game in the Series finale, going 2-for-4 and scoring two runs. His solo home run in the first inning extended the Brewers’ lead to three and helped set the tone for Milwaukee.

After the game, Contreras appreciated the greatness of this Dodgers team, but also reminded that the Brewers aren’t bad either.

Via Associated Press (source: ESPN):

“Everybody knows the Dodgers are a good team,” Contreras said through an interpreter. “We know we are, too.”

Tobias Myers started the game for Milwaukee, allowing two earned runs (four total) on eight hits with a walk and a strikeout over 5.2 innings of work on the mound. Bryan Hudson got the win after throwing two scoreless innings, while Devin Williams shut the Dodgers’ door again with another save, collecting two strikeouts without allowing a hit in the ninth inning.

The win improved the Brewers to 69-52 and now has a nine-point lead atop the National League Central Division. The Cincinnati Reds and the slumping St. Louis Cardinals have identical records of 60-61. What’s more, Milwaukee is now just a half-game behind the Dodgers for second place in the National League.
