Milwaukee Bucks Projected to Have 50 Wins in 2024-25 Season

After a disappointing end to last season, the Milwaukee Bucks are ready for the upcoming campaign with the two-time MVP at the helm. Fortunately, NBA analytics predict the team will post at least 50 wins next season.

After a disappointing first-round playoff exit last season, the Bucks fired coach Mike Budenholzer in May 2023 and hired Adrian Griffin as their recent coach in June. In September, the Bucks made a major trade, acquiring seven-time All-Star Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Bucks started the season strongly under Griffin, going 30-13 in behind schedule January 2024. However, the team fired Griffin and hired veteran coach Doc Rivers. Despite the coaching change, the Bucks secured their eighth consecutive playoff berth, despite star Giannis Antetokounmpo suffering a season-ending calf injury.

The Bucks then suffered a surprise first-round upset in the playoffs, losing to the Indiana Pacers in six games. Lillard also missed the postseason with an injury, which contributed to the Bucks’ early exit from the playoffs. Overall, 2023–24 season There were significant changes in the Bucks team and coaching staff, but the team failed to advance to the further stages of the playoffs.

Unlike last season, Milwaukee may get a better result in the upcoming campaign. In the article written by Andy Bailey for Bleacher ReportThe Bucks are projected to win at least 50 games.

The Milwaukee Bucks were one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA last season. They fired championship coach Mike Budenholzer in the summer of 2023, then fired his replacement, Adrian Griffin, midway through the 2023-24 season. They decided to put a gigantic name in Griffin’s place, and then Doc Rivers had a sub-.500 record with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard and a core that won it all just three years ago.

Of course, Giannis’ injury that kept him out of the playoffs had an impact on the end of the season, but Milwaukee was in shambles long before it was eliminated by the Pacers.

Defense finished the season classified in the bottom half of the league. Lillard, Brook Lopez and Khris Middleton are on the other side of their best years. And Rivers has become known as much for his playoff shortcomings over the past 15 years as for his 2008 title.

But the Bucks still have Giannis, one of the two or three most physically dominant players in the league. And if he’s available, they expect to put up wins in the regular season.

It also helps that talented veterans like Gary Trent Jr. and Delon Wright can be acquired on smaller deals, but that “over the top” bet hinges almost entirely on Milwaukee’s Greek superstar.

Milwaukee’s 2024-25 depth chart is projected after their offseason moves. Lillard leads the point guards, while Gary Trent Jr. and Delon Wright provide depth at the combo guard position. The wing group is the deepest on the team, featuring Khris Middleton, Pat Connaughton and several promising newborn players. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Taurean Prince are the mainstays at the forward position, while the center rotation consists of the aging Brook Lopez, Bobby Portis and rookie Tyler Smith.

With this projected roster, the Bucks have a good chance of reaching 50 wins this upcoming season. If all goes well, they could even surpass that number and make a deep run in the playoffs.
