I am writing in response to a comment from Mr. Ray Heidel regarding the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the agency’s decision to change the dates of the Canada goose fishing season in the Mississippi River zone.
Like Mr. Heidel, I am also an dynamic waterfowl conservationist and have served on the groups and committees that make these decisions for decades. On the other hand, I would like to commend the Wisconsin DNR for deciding to adjust its regulations to provide more options for Wisconsin hunters, as well as simplify our regulations, which we can all agree should be a priority.
