Packers re-sign FB Henry Pearson, release RB Jarveon Howard

The Green Bay Packers made a roster move ahead of Tuesday’s practice. The team signed fullback Henry Pearson, who was waived earlier in training camp, and released running back Jarveon Howard.

Howard, a rookie, was battling an ankle injury and was waived due to injury.

The Packers are playing without tight end Tyler Davis, who has a fresh shoulder injury. It’s possible the injury forced Pearson back, who could play fullback/tight end/H-back.

Pearson went undrafted out of Appalachian State in 2023. He signed with the Packers and spent the entire 2023 season on the team’s practice squad. The Packers elevated him from the practice squad to play against the Detroit Lions (13 snaps) and Kansas City Chiefs (21 snaps).

Pearson returns to uniform number 44.

Howard, an undrafted free agent out of Alcorn State, signed on April 30. He rushed eight times for 44 yards before injuring his ankle in the preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns.
