This Milwaukee Breweries promoted fire-throwing prospect Jacob Misiorowski to Triple-A in early August 2024. He’s made a handful of short-form appearances since then, including coming out of the bullpen. This is all in preparation for a possible MLB call-up later this year, and he recently reached another milestone.
Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski has checked off another box as he prepares to be drafted into the MLB.
On Tuesday, August 20, Jacob Misiorowski entered the game in the eighth inning with a three-run lead. He then plated the final two innings for the Nashville Sounds and recorded a multi-inning save. It was his first career save as a professional baseball player, and in that appearance he allowed no hits, gave no walks to any batter (he struck out one batter), allowed no runs, and struck out two.
How did Jacob Misiorowski do in the bullpen?
Jacob Misiorowski now has three appearances as a reliever, each in which he has pitched for multiple innings. In those appearances, he has covered 5.2 innings, allowed no hits, allowed no walks, and has seven strikeouts. In his last appearance, his velocity has reached 99.8 MPH, and his fastball has registered 98 MPH eight times.
Does Jacob Misiorowski have an innings limit this year?
A season ago, Jacob Misiorowski was pulled early after pitching 71.1 innings. This year, he has 88.1. Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy hasn’t revealed his innings limit, but he said they’ll be careful with him.
The September call-ups are just over a week away. At that time, substantial league teams can have two more players on their roster, which would include 14 pitchers. It will be fascinating to see if the Milwaukee Brewers promote Jacob Misiorowski to the substantial leagues at that time.
