It was Yogi Berra who coined the phrase, “It’s like déjà vu all over again.” That was my thought when I heard the rain on my bedroom window in the murky before the opening of northern duck season in Wisconsin.
It seems like yesterday, but last year’s opener started the same way, making me wonder if rolling over and going back to sleep made more sense than rolling out of bed like I did last year. But there’s that senior saying about you can’t teach an senior dog modern tricks, so I rolled out again instead of rolled out. It was opening day, after all.
