The numbers show that the demographics of fishermen are changing

The Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation recently released a special report on 2022 fishing statistics, and the results were a bit surprising: With COVID-19 restrictions keeping everyone apart and preferably outdoors, 2020 was a record-breaking year of growth for fishing as people had more free time.
2022 continued to be a year of improvement, as 54.5 million Americans went fishing, an raise of 2.1 million from 2021. This group included 4.1 million first-timers, 40% of whom were women.
