The Wisconsin basketball team has signed a 2026 forward and is keeping the talented athlete in the great state of Wisconsin.

LaTrevion “Tre” FendersonThe 2026 tiny forward from Racine, Wisconsin, drew interest from big-time programs early in his recruiting. Fenderson received a scholarship from the Wisconsin basketball program, State of IowaAND UW-Milwaukee before announcing his commitment to the Badgers. The tiny forward brings a wealth of skill and versatility to the Wisconsin basketball team that will serve him well in the future.

Wisconsin basketball players sign first 2026 class commitment from in-state star Three Fendersons announced his commitment. Fenderson had been leaning toward a commitment to the Badgers for some time, bringing in two crystal ball predictions before finally announcing his decision. The forward is the first commit in the class for Wisconsin and joins the program ahead of his star rating.

Fenderson is a gifted athlete and a very physical player, something he proved last season when he broke out on the map with his play. Fenderson averaged a double-double last season, averaging 17.1 points and 10.9 rebounds per game while also adding 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game. The forward was a dominant force and did a little bit of everything for his team last season.

Perhaps what Fenderson did best for his team last year was cut up the basket and attack the defense. Fenderson had his best game of the season, scoring 34 points against Racine Lutheran in a loss, but he showed what he does best during the game. Fenderson shot 61.9 percent from the field and got to the free throw line three times.

The rookie is still inexperienced and has a few areas he needs to work on to improve, such as his shooting accuracy and shot selection. Fenderson shot 29.1 percent from distance last season and 64.3 percent from the free throw line for his team. The forward brings a lot of potential and promise to the Wisconsin basketball program with his early commitment.

While Fenderson is a 2026 recruit and somewhat raw, he has still shown great intelligence and an advanced understanding of the game. Fenderson is consistently in the right position to make a play or get a shot back to the fastball. The talented forward knows where to position himself to make plays that benefit his team, and that kind of talent usually takes a long time to develop to Fenderson’s level.

Perhaps the aspect of the mental game and on-court intelligence that Fenderson understands best involves fouls. Fenderson is exceptionally talented at drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line, where the forward is the knockdown shooter. On the defensive end, Fenderson is still a work in progress, but he’s already showing a willingness to take contact and draw fouls.

In addition to his intelligence and feel for the game, Fenderson also brings a handful of physical skills to the court. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound forward bursts through the paint with a level of fearlessness. Fenderson puts his body on the line to make plays and uses his reach to make tough throws down the field comfortably.

Outside of the paint, Fenderson is a solid perimeter scorer and averaged 17.1 points per game last season as he continues to develop his shooting. Fenderson is an athletic finisher, however, and typically opts to attack the paint and finish over his defender.
