Continuous Game Fishing Season Still Available on Minnesota’s St. Croix River

The Wisconsin DNR decided in June that its recommendations to that state’s Natural Resources Board would not include opening parts of the St. Croix River to a year-round gamefishing season. Now, the Minnesota DNR is working on a survey for anglers to align with Wisconsin and get feedback on that and other boundary issues. Although Wisconsin will not currently pursue a perpetual open season, Joel Stiras, a vast river specialist with the Minnesota DNR, said Minnesota could still add it to the regulations. That would create some confusion and difficulty for DNR officers to enforce, but it is possible.
