Brandon Woodruff recently reached an crucial milestone in his shoulder recovery.
For Adam McCalvy on MLB.com Brandon Woodruff recently threw from the mound for the first time. He threw 15 balls on Tuesday, Aug. 27, and is expected to throw again Friday or Saturday. This is exhilarating news because throwing from the mound is a significant milestone and if all goes well, he will have the entire offseason to work on getting his velocity back, his throw shape, fine-tuning his location and strengthening his arm for the workload of the starters in 2025.
The Milwaukee Brewers have Brandon Woodruff, who they will sign to a contract in 2025 and potentially through 2026.
The recent offseason was a rollercoaster for Brandon Woodruff. Not only did he have surgery, the Milwaukee Brewers didn’t offer him an offer in November and he went unsigned until February. During that time, he reached an agreement with the Brew Crew that paid him $2.5 million this year, $5 million in 2025, and a $20 mutual option in 2026 with a $10 million buyout.
Overall, this is great news for the Brewers and Brandon Woodruff. Hopefully, Woodruff can continue his rehab and report to Spring Training with a full roster.
