Did you know that Wisconsin has over 30 ski resorts and locations? It’s probably closer to you than you think!

This map shows where each location is located across the state:

With the first weekend of December behind us, which brought significant amounts of snow to northern Wisconsin, many ski areas are eager to get people out on the slopes and lifts.

If you’re considering a ski trip this week or weekend, here’s a list of resorts currently open and ready to meet you:

  • Alpine Valley
  • See the ski hill
  • Blackhawk Ski Club
  • Cascade Mountain
  • Granite Peak
  • Keyes Peak Ski Jump
  • Little Switzerland
  • Mont du Lac
  • Mount La Crosse Ski Area
  • Nordic Mountain
  • Nutt Hill Ski Area
  • Powers Bluff County Park
  • Standing Rocks County Park

The following ski resorts are not open yet, but will be soon:

  • Kettlebowl Downhill and Cross-Country Ski Area (opening date not announced)
  • Triangle Sports Arena (opening date not announced)

Most of northern Wisconsin has a lot of natural snow, and it’s pretty fresh! Watch out, we may see another storm system later this week that could dump even more fresh snow on northern Wisconsin. This may affect conditions at several resorts, so call ahead before you go.

Meanwhile, southern Wisconsin has been spared snowstorms this year. Most of the snow found here is artificial, but is still great for skiing.

No matter where you go or when you get there, be sure to take some photos and send them to us via the Spectrum News 1 app.

Stay sheltered, have fun and enjoy the snow season across Wisconsin!
