A study from the University of Wisconsin shows that walleyes are struggling with changes in the spring thaw

Walleyes, one of the most sought-after freshwater sport fishing species in the Midwest, are also struggling to survive in the warming waters of the Midwestern United States and Canada.
According to a modern study published Feb. 26 in the journal Limnology and Oceanography Letters, part of the problem is that walleyes are creatures of habit, and the seasons – especially winter – change so quickly that walleyes can’t keep up.
