MLB winter games they are just around the corner. This year, baseball minds will gather in Dallas, Texas, December 8-12. It’s unlikely that the Milwaukee Brewers will steal any of the headlines with the signings or trades that take place during this event, but there is a juvenile, controllable infielder for the Kansas City Royals who is a trade candidate and would be a great fit this team. Beer Crew.
24-year-old Kansas City Royals infielder Maikel Garcia has sparked industry interest
According to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com, other clubs have expressed interest in Maikel Garcia’s availability. Kansas City’s acquisition of goaltender Jonathan India in a trade likely played a enormous role in this, as Garcia is versatile defensively, has offensive upside and is under the team’s control through the 2029 season.
Maikel Garcia would be a great fit for the Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers love baseball players who can move defensively. Maikel Garcia can do this because he has played third base throughout his career, playing second base and the outfield. Milwaukee would likely consider hiring him as a third baseman so that Joey Ortiz could move to shortstop and Platinum Glove-winning second baseman Brice Turang could stay put.
Another sturdy point of Maikel Garcia is speed. He stole 37 bases a season ago and 23 the year before. He also had more than 50 RBIs in each of the last two seasons, as well as 20 or more doubles.
What would the Brewers and Royals have to do to make a deal?
The trade between two rival organizations in Milwaukee and Kansas City involving Maikel Garcia is hard to predict. On the one hand, the Brewers would be getting a third baseman every day while the Royals would be losing theirs. Kansas City would need to make additional moves to replace the lost production.
It’s possible that since the Royals parted ways with starting pitcher Brady Singer, they would be open to receiving a rotation piece in return. Aaron Civale is the most experienced Brewers prospect available in a trade, but Milwaukee currently has little chance at the position.
A lot can happen at the Winter Meetings in a miniature amount of time. It will be captivating to see if Maikel Garcia is dealt and if the Royals keep him.
