After winning the quarterfinals, Kaukauna is aiming for another state title

MADISON (NBC 26) – The Kaukauna softball team is now two wins away from a historic fourth straight WIAA state championship.

The Galloping Ghosts defeated Hamilton 9-0 in Thursday’s state quarterfinals at Goodman Diamond Stadium in Madison to advance to Friday’s round of the state semifinals.

  • Senior Taryn Christopher led the Galloping Ghosts with a 4-4 mark, four RBIs and three runs scored.
  • Junior pitcher Karly Meredith struck out 13 batters and allowed only two hits in the win.
  • It was Kaukauna’s 108th straight victory, four shy of the national record of 112; the streak dates back to May 2021.
  • The top-seeded Galloping Ghosts will now face No. 4 seed Milton in the state semifinals; this match is scheduled for 9:00 p.m
  • The championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
